FAQs

What do I bring for a stay at the Lodge?

The climate around oarsman’s Bay Lodge is warm and cosy year-round.

Don’t forget your sun screen, bathers, sunglasses, walking shoes, a hat and perhaps a cover-up, since Fiji’s mid-day sun can sometimes be a bit fierce. Visitors must keep in mind the rules when visiting the villages. Ladies should dress conservatively and wear a long skirt or a sarong to show a sign of respect to the head of the village.  Don’t forget your insect repellent for the evenings that you will be spending out under the beautiful stars with your new friends and old mates.

What are the costs for food at Oarsman’s Bay Lodge?

Please note our mandatory meal plan includes hot and continental Fiji buffet breakfast, lunch and three course set dinner menu with local Seafood focus.

The meal plan costs:

FJD 119 per day per Adult

All other beverages and snacks can be purchased at the bar. Our menus vary day to day, season to season and often depends on what is growing in the garden, delivered by the supply boat or caught by our local fishermen. For further information and notification of any dietary requirements that our fully trained Fijian chefs can plan for your needs, please contact us in advance.

What type of Electricity Adaptor do I need?

Fiji uses 240 volt 50 Hz AC (Alternating current). The plugs that are available here in Fiji are a 3- prong plug which are also used in Australia and New Zealand. Few of the resorts around (including ours) have converters so it’s best if you get your own converter for your camera and laptops if they are not dual voltage. The converters are also available around many department stores in the travel and luggage section at the airport.
