What is a bure?
The word bure (pronounced bur-ray) comes from the traditional type of house Fijians traditionally lived in. There were two types of houses; a vale was the family house which had hearth pits where the women cooked. The packed earth floor was covered with grass or fern leaves and then carpeted with pandanus leaf or coarse coconut leaf mats. The men’s houses, where males of the clan met, ate, and slept were known as bures.

Is the meal package compulsory, what is the cost and what is included?
Yes, it it compulsory.
The rate is FJ 129 per person per day and includes a hot buffet breakfast, set dish for lunch, freshly baked cakes and fruit for afternoon tea, and a three-course set dinner menu.
Are the meals included in the room rate?
The meal plan is a separate charge from the room rate.
Does the meal plan include beverages?
The meal plan is strictly food only, drinks are charged separately.
